Mr. Stern presents more than 30+ years of successful design and management experience in the building industry in both the private and public sectors. The various markets include: corporate/commercial, educational/cultural, financial, telecom/media, museums, religious institutions and transportation facilities. His extensive new construction and renovation experience with commercial, mission critical facilities, occupied school buildings, including The Ross School’s Master Planning and the 30+ schools in the NYC School Construction Authority Capital Improvements Program 1A, provide him with the ability to coordinate large and small scale construction projects. As a specialist in fire protection, he further provides the expertise in mechanical systems which are a critical component of a building.
Mr. Stern began his career with Stern Fire Protection Corp.; a successful family owned contracting business. While running the day-to-day activities including coordination of all field operations, his desire to grow in the building industry paved the way to working for Skanska USA Building, a leading provider of world-class construction services within the building construction sector in the United States.
Mr. Stern, throughout his entire career, has personally been involved in all aspects of the construction management process including contract negotiations, project estimating, budget establishment and control, material purchasing, scheduling, and general field operations. From the commencement of the project through its completion, he maintains a constant dialogue with his clients with firm control over his designated personnel in order to effectively control the progress of each project, to ensure total job coordination, to assure adherence to the project‘s budget and to achieve quality workmanship.
Over the course of his many years in the industry, Mr. Stern has established very close relationships with some of the best contractors, sub-contractors, tradesmen, vendors and suppliers of building materials in the industry. He has also developed close affiliations with many architects, engineers, designers, expeditors, zoning and planning attorneys, surveyors, real estate code consultants and other industry professionals. His vast array of close contacts gives him the ability to organize even the most complex projects within a set time frame and a predetermined budget.
